Questions about VMBridge
What is VMBridge?
VMBridge is a macOS app for Parallels Desktop. It gives an AI agent a virtual machine as its own computer over MCP: screen, keyboard, mouse, commands, files, and snapshots. The price is $9.99 one-time, 7-day free trial. The trial is full-featured.
Does VMBridge replace Parallels Desktop?
No. VMBridge drives virtual machines that Parallels Desktop already runs. You need Parallels Desktop Pro or Business on the Mac. Parallels is a trademark of Parallels International GmbH. VMBridge is not affiliated with Parallels.
How does Claude Code control a VM?
Run vmbridge connect claude-code on the Mac. Claude Code then talks to the VMBridge MCP server. The agent sees the guest screen and uses the guest keyboard and mouse. It does not drive your Mac desktop.
What does the $9.99 purchase include?
A one-time license key for VMBridge, not a subscription. The price is $9.99 one-time, 7-day free trial. The trial is full-featured and starts at first launch. Buy opens the Polar checkout. Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) is the merchant of record. A validated key keeps working for 14 days without reaching the license server. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason.
How is VMBridge different from VMPal?
VMPal, from TablePlus, is a VM app with a built-in MCP server. VMBridge is an independent agent layer on Parallels Desktop. It does not include VMPal's hypervisor, Windows engine, or VM file format. See the comparison page for a feature-by-feature map.
Where is the DMG?
The notarized disk image is not a file on this website. It ships with the GitHub release when a signed macOS build is published. Until then, install from the source repository with scripts/install.sh.
What leaves this Mac?
The app runs locally. It does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and it does not send usage telemetry. Activating or validating a license key contacts Polar's API. Guest sign-in passwords stay in a file on the Mac and are not returned by tools or written to the activity log.
